Feedback for Blockchain Architecture Design and Use Cases
Dear student
We are glad that you have attended the NPTEL online certification course.
We hope you found the NPTEL Online course useful and have started using NPTEL extensively.
In this regard, we would like to have a feedback from you regarding our course and whether there are any improvements, you would like to suggest.
We are enclosing an online feedback form and would request you to spare some of your valuable time to input your observations. Your esteemed input will help us in serving you better.
The link to give your feedback is : http://bit.ly/2CHDypN
We thank you for your valuable time and feedback.
Thanks & Regards,
NPTEL Team
Wish you all the best in future!
Dear students,
Hope all of you had a good course and did your final exam well. Thanks for taking this course and for keeping the forum very lively! We increased the number of TAs from 2 to 4 this semester, and all of them were kept quite busy :) I hope you will continue to explore and work with blockchain with the many pointers we have provided -- the course was only an introduction into a broad range of topics and it is now up to you to make the most of this foundation.
For those who signed up with IBM Blockchain Platform through this course, the special cluster we had setup for registrants of this course will be sunset on May 1st. As mentioned earlier, once the cluster is sunset, you will lose access, so please make note of any information you need from the network you setup. You can still sign up for IBM Blockchain Platform on your own and get free credits, so I would encourage you to do that for any continued blockchain development.
Many of you asked for a follow-up hands on course. I don't have one at the moment, but if I find out about any good hands-on course, I will share with you. In the meanwhile, please do continue your blockchain journey.
Best wishes!
Praveen.

Error in Assignment 7 Question 1 Re-evaluated
Dear students,
The option of 'Ripple' in assignment 7 question 1 was incorrectly marked as a correct choice in the answers. Ripple is a permissioned network. The only correct answer for that question is 'Ethereum'.
We did not have the ability to reevaluate considering Ethereum as the only correct answer. So, we have scrapped that question entirely and the assignment will only be graded on questions 2-10. Your assignment scores have been revised to reflect this. I apologize for this oversight.
We will shortly provide clarifications on some of the other questions asked on the forum. We constantly strive to make our questions as clear as possible and I sincerely welcome your feedback. For any questions where you feel the reasoning is unclear, please post on the forum and we will certainly respond and clarify.
Regards,
Praveen.
Please clean up any networks that are not being used
Dear students,
Many of you have created networks on IBM Blockchain Platform, which is excellent. In case any of you are not using your networks any more, can you please delete them? You can find your network in the resources dashboard (please delete only your network!). We have run out of capacity and there are more students trying to create networks. Deleting a network can help another student get access.
In case you are not able to find the option to delete, please post on the forum with your email address and network name. We can delete it for you. Appreciate your help and cooperation in this regard.
Thanks and regards,
Praveen.

Thanks to the TAs, the next batch of students who signed up in the google form have been added and granted access. For those who are seeing this late, please sign up in the google form posted earlier. We will add you in the next batch in a few days.

Create Your Blockchain Networks using IBM Blockchain Starter Plan
Hello everyone,
We have granted access to everyone who has signed up for IBM Blockchain Starter Plan through the google form we shared. Please follow the steps below to create your network (its free and no credit card needed):
1. If you received an invite by email, please accept it. Some accounts get activated automatically (I haven't figured out the reason for this), so dont worry if you didn't receive an invite. Please ensure that this email is registered as an IBM ID (you can sign up here, if you haven't already: https://www.ibm.com/account/reg/us-en/signup?formid=urx-19776)
2. Go to https://console.bluemix.net and login with your IBMID and password. You will be taken to a dashboard. Check that your account on the top right is '1734855-IBM'. If not, switch to this account.
3. Click on 'Create Resource' on the right and then find the 'Blockchain' tile and click on it. Note, do not select the tile that says 'Blockchain Platform 2.0'.
4. In the next screen you will see details of the blockchain network that is going to be provisioned for you. Please change the name to 'Blockchain-<Your name>' so that the network has a unique identifier and will not be rejected due to conflicts. This will also allow us to track and view your network, in case you face problems and want us to help you with your network.
This screen should say 'London' as the region, 'NPTEL-Blockchain-Spring2019' as the organization and 'dev' as the space. Do not change these fields. Click on 'Create' at the bottom.
6. Your network should get provisioned. Click on 'Launch'. You'll be taken to your network. After this you should be able to follow my demo lectures 25 and 26 and also play around with your network / develop and deploy your blockchain apps.
I wish you a great experience learning and working with your blockchain network! :)
Regards,
Praveen.
