Welcome to AI:CSP
Dear All,
Welcome to the course AI:Constraint Satisfaction Problems!
Constraint Satisfaction Problems (CSPs) are problems posed as constraints between a set of variables. A large class of problems can be posed as CSPs, and then one can benefit from general purpose methods for solving CSPs. In this course we will study how a subclass of CSPs called Finite Domain CSPs can be solved, and we also look at some applications formulated as CSPs.
This is an 8 week course, and has about 42 videos, each of about half an hour. Each week we will have a small quiz/assessment that will be of objective type. The final exam will be also of objective type. The breakup is 25% for the weekly assessments and 75% for the final exam. We shall follow the following schedule, designed to allow you to use your weekends profitably.
Uploading of videos: Every Friday afternoon 4 p.m.
Uploading of assessments: Every Monday afternoon 4 p.m.
Deadline for submission: Every Monday at 12 noon.
We hope you will have a good learning experience. We look forward to your active participation in the discussion forum. We encourage you to pen your thoughts and pose queries that will help all participants.
With best wishes,
Deepak Khemani (instructor)
