Clarifications : Please note

Dear Students

This is based on the queries that you have posted on the forum. Please note the following:

1. We hope that all of you have got your admit cards downloaded. Does anyone face issues with regard to downloading the hall tickets? Please write to us if you have queries about the same.

2. It seems to us that few students have had issues in submitting assessment six. Those of you who could not submit assessment 6, please send us your answers in a word document by tomorrow.

3. Answers keys of assessment 6, 7 and 8 will be released tomorrow (in the evening around 5). Please note that once the answer keys are out, no more assessments (sent out in word format) will be considered for evaluation. This also means that assessments sent out to us after 17th will not be considered for evaluation. Hence we request you to submit your assessments before 17th (4:00 pm)

4. We will consider 30% of assessment weightage (best 6 out of 8 assessments) to be considered for final grading.

5. Those of you who have submitted your assessments in word format will get an update of their marks in a couple of days. Your scores will not be updated in the progress tab. However, we'll share it with you in the discussion forum (plus we'll sent it out as an announcement). You can check your marks and get back to us
if you need any clarifications about the same.

Please feel free to post your queries on the forum. Or you may write to us as well. We'll try to respond to your queries as early as possible.

All the best for your exams

Clarifications: Please note

Dear Students

We wish to make a couple of clarifications about text materials, exams, hall tickets and assessment scores. (This is based on the queries that you have posted on the forum)

1. First of all, please read the announcements properly. We had already made an announcement that hall tickets/admit cards will be made available for download on the second/third week of March. We will sent out a mail regarding the same when the hall tickets are ready for download.

2. About the text materials: Please understand that video lectures ought to be your primary learning resource. This is the only NPTEL online course where the text materials are made available (for the students) along with the videos. The team has been working really hard in transcribing and uploading the text materials. NPTEL has so far uploaded 33 out of 40 lectures and is currently working on lectures 33-40. The team is trying their best to make it available to you (as and when they are ready).

3. Those of you who have mailed us your assessment answers in word documents will get an update of the marks only after the closing of all the eight assessments. It becomes extremely difficult for the TA to manually correct your answers, convert them to percentage and upload them immediately after you send us your answers (This course has an enrollment of 3200 students). However we will ensure that there is complete transparency and will update you with individual scores of the assessments (that you have attempted) before publishing the final score.

4. Having talked about the difficulties we face with regard to delayed submission of assessments, we request your good self to kindly submit assessments 7 & 8 before the due date. Please avoid working on your assessments on the last day of submission.

5. Answer keys of the first two assessments have been uploaded. You can find them at the bottom of the assessment page. Write to us if you have any queries about the same. We shall soon be sharing the answer keys of the remaining assessments.

6. Instructions with regard to final exam (the pattern and questions for the exam) will be announced tomorrow.
