NPTEL Open Online Certification Courses - 47 new courses open for enrollment!

Dear Students

Here is your chance to enroll and learn for free today from the faculty at the IITs!
NPTEL offers 47 new open online courses (10 hr course, 20hr course and 40hr courses) in various disciplines of Engineering&Science, Management and Humanities.

•    Duration of courses: 4 weeks, 8 weeks or 12 weeks
•    Online course start date: Jan 18, 2016
•    Last date for enrollment: Jan 25, 2016
•    Certification exam dates: Mar 20, 27 (for 10 and 20hr courses) and Apr 24, May 1(for 40 hr courses)

Anyone who is above 13 years of age can enroll for this course and learn for free at https://onlinecourses.nptel.ac.in.

This site uses your Google account for authentication. You can select the course and click the join button to enroll.

After enrollment you will be able to see the course contents as and when they are made available by the course instructors.

Sample solution

Calculators can be caaried during the certification exam. Rough papers and pencil will be provided during the exam, which you have to return back after the exam. We have uploaded the sample solution for two questions. You can find it in the course outline heading. Final score for the certificate exam will be calculated as average of 5 best assignments score ( this will have weightage of 50% of the course)+ score obtained in the certification exam (this will also have 50 % weightage of the course).

Certification Exam Instruction

The exam paper(Infrastructure Economics) will be divided into two parts.Part-1 (20 Marks) will have descriptive as well as methametical questions. While part-2 (30 Marks) will have multiple choice questions.No negative marking for part-2. Exam tips: It will be good to re-visit PPTs,lectures and some of the web sources recommended to see during the course work.The exam will provide you an opportunity to write answers within the time alloted. We will soon post you a smaple of answer for one or two descriptive question which may guide you for certification examination.

If you have successfully registered for the September 6th/ 13th NPTEL Online Certification exam, your hall ticket is available at:

Please login with your application number and password that has been sent to you as part of the successful registration email. In the tab - "Hall Ticket" / "Hall ticket for offline exam" you will get your hall ticket. If you are writing 2 course exams, there would be 2 hall tickets available for you to carry for your respective exams. Under the "Hall ticket" tab - there would be a link as click "here", on clicking which your hall ticket will get displayed / downloaded into your system.The hall ticket will have the details of your exam venue.
