NPTEL Design and Analysis of Algorithms, Week 1
Dear Students,
The first set of lectures has been released. This covers an introduction to the course and an overview of algorithm analysis (big O notation etc).
The course wil run for 8 weeks. There are approximately 2 hours of lecture material per week, in 6-8 modules of 15-20 minutes each.
Each week there will be an objective type quiz with 5 questions. You can only attempt the quiz once, so take your time before you submit. The deadline will be 7-10 days after the quiz is announced.
There will also be 5-6 programming assignments related to the algorithms being covered in the course, starting from the second week. You can submit programs in C, C++, Java and Python, as many times as you like. Your code will be automatically evaluated using hidden test cases that check for correctness and efficiency. Note that Java and Python are slower and may not pass the larger test cases. The deadline will be 10-15 days after the assignment is announced.
Do use the online forum to post queries and comments.
Enjoy!
