Week 5 lectures, NPTEL MOOC, Design and Analysis of Algorithms

Lectures for Week 5 are now available.

The quiz for this week will be announced shortly, along with a programming assignment spanning weeks 4 and 5. There was no separate programming assignment for week 4.

Scores in programming assignment Great Escape

When the assignment was initially loaded on the server, there was some problem with assigning weights to testcases: some testcases had differential weightage and some even had weight zero!

This was later fixed, so now there are 10 test cases, with equal weightage. This means that you should resubmit your code to see your actual score. And it also explains the phenomenon reported by some students that scores have decreased for identical submissions: this means your code was originally failing test cases which had wrongly been assigned reduced weightage.

Sorry for the confusion and inconvenience.

Week 4 Quiz available, Design and Analysis of Algorithms,

The quiz for Week 4 is available.
